List of counties where I'm a registered candidate



Different states have different requirements for write-in candidates.   Some states count all write-in votes, while in other states write-in votes are not allowed.   Most states require some kind of registration in advance of the election.   And some require a filing fee as well.  

If you live in a place not listed and you intend to vote for me, send an email to "[email protected]" and I'll research what is required for your vote to count.   Then I'll update this page as appropriate.

  • California — Registration not required

  • Delaware — Statewide

  • Iowa — Registration not required

  • Massachusetts — Registration not required

  • Minnesota — Statewide

  • New Hampshire — Registration not required

  • New Jersey — Registration not required

  • Oregon — Registration not required; only total number of write-ins reported unless that total is higher that the #1 ballot

  • Pennsylvania — Registration not required

  • Rhode Island — Registration not required but there may be a bill to change that?

  • South Carolina — Registration not required

  • Mississippi — Write-in votes only count if a ballot candidate dies or withdraws



Not gonna happen

  • Alaska — No write-in voting

  • Hawaii — No write-in voting

  • Kansas — $20 filing fee

  • Kentucky — $50 filing fee

  • Louisiana — No write-in voting

  • Missouri — Too complicated

  • Montana — Filing fee equal to 1% of US Senator's salary

  • Nevada — No write-in voting

  • New Mexico — No write-in voting

  • Oklahoma — No write-in voting

  • South Dakota — No write-in voting

  • Texas — Need to find 40 Texans to be electors
